As we are now going on 2 weeks without any laundry being done, I had to do something.
My sweet husband has promised for said 2 weeks to do the laundry, alas my basket over flows and I can't find any clothes.
So today I gave up. I hid poor Sam in his pack'n'play and pulled out my trump card with Sophia. I turned on Yo Gabba Gabba.
When that show comes on she walks up to the gate around the TV and stands there for the 30 minutes it's on.
So I grabbed my basket and ran downstairs and started the laundry.
Yep you read me right.
I left my 12 month old alone but I did learn I can hear EVERYTHING through the floor, down to Sam growling because his bink fell out.
When I came back up Sophie was still standing at the TV in amazement as Brobee sang about the party in his tummy.

Sophia is ONE!
My baby girl turned one a couple days ago. Her big party isn't until the 14th but my parents were wonderful enough to throw her an impromptu party on her actual big day.
My dad let Sophia pick the dinner. She is addicted to spinach and cheese stuffed ravioli so he made them for her. Also because she has a sensitivity to tomatoes he used an Alfredo sauce over top. We also had garlic bread which she LOVES.

My happy birthday girl!

Her own personal cake.
She was just testing the waters
Good cake
We have a boy!
Samuel Richard was born on July 28th, 2011 at 11:04 am via c-section. He weighs 8lbs 7oz and is 20.5 inches long.
We were scheduled for a repeat c-section on 7/29 but Sam had other ideas. Wednesday night I was sitting in bed while poor Carl tried to sleep. I was planning our last day as a family of 3. I knew the c-section was on Friday and I felt like I had SO much crap to do in the space of 1 day. At 11:30 Carl told me to lay down and go to sleep, which was kind of funny.
Around 3am I woke up and noticed I was damper than usual down there but i was so tired I thought it was just sweat and normal discharge. Around 7am I heard a crash followed by the sound of water from the bathroom. I bolted out of bed thinking A) Sophie got out of bed and B) She got into the tub. I got to the room to discover that a body wash had fallen and turn on the faucet. But as I stood there I felt a gush. It took me 2 more minutes to realize my water broke. I stood in the shower and yelled to DH to come help me.
He came in and was like "Are you sure its your water, you're c-section is tomorrow" I about threw something at him. I calmly called my mom to come get me. She about had a stroke leaving her work because she was so excited. I called my gram, got dressed, and woke Sophie. She was a little peeved since we never wake her but she forgave me when my mom got there. After dropping Sophie at my grandmother's we drove to the hospital.
They barely got the strip near me and it turned green. I was surprised when they told me that they had one c-section and then it was my turn. I wasn't contracting, not even my normal amount which was a little depressing considering I had multiple preterm labor scares. Even though I was a repeat c-section we had discussed a VBAC if my body looked like it would cooperate, of course it didn't.
I had a spinal which was a little freaky for me. It didn't really hurt but I could feel the catheter thing in my spine. The nurses joked that it was good I had the oxygen on me already since I stuffed my face into a pillow the whole time. I got nauseous really quick and even though they gave me the meds I ended up throwing up, that was a little freaky since it was while they were starting to cut.
This c-section seemed to go quicker than with Sophia, I'm not sure if it did but it felt like it. It felt like it was immediately after Carl joined me that they were having him stand to see Samuel. Unlike his sister, who needed to be pinched to cry, when they pulled him out he screamed. I cried pretty hard hearing that. I actually napped through the second half of the surgery, it was boring and I was REALLY numb.
He's just over a week old now but he's a relatively happy baby and usually only cries if he's naked or hungry.

I'm moving today
Haha like I should be actively packing/taking stuff apart but Sophie is gone to my gram's house and I'm alone for like 20 minutes!
I'm happy/not happy about this move but I'll get over it.
Also my mother makes this comment to me "Don't push yourself too hard today." I asked her why. Her response "Well you're really pregnant." Uhm at this point worst that happens is I go into labor, YEAHHH I'd be sooo upset about that happening.
That being said. I'm off to actually... move

Sophia can walk!
She took her first couple of steps a couple weeks ago but since then has really become a "walker"
It's almost sad to me that she can now walk. She still will crawl if it's a super long distance but her distances are getting a lot longer and she's much more stable. A little video
My house is a mess I know, my couch is ugly I know, and yeah my child knows the name of fictional characters on a TV show. I'm awesome like that you know.

My baby is growing up
Did you ever just realize something was different? Something that happened so gradually you did notice it until one moment it hit you?
That's how I feel about Sophia right now. In my head if you asked me what image I saw when thinking about my girl she is this little cross eyed baby that was always covered in drool. Yesterday after dropping Carl off at work for 6am we came home to try and relax the sleep away. We were sitting on the couch watching Yo Gabba Gabba when it hit me.
Sure she was on my lap but she wasn't being held by me. Actually she was reclining into the corner of the couch happily watching the TV. Her legs were propped up on mine, crossed at the ankles. Except they weren't baby legs, or baby feet, heck this wasn't a BABY. Her legs were long and had some scrapes and scars from her adventures and somehow her feet were already dirty despite the fact they hadn't touched the ground since the night before.
Call it pregnancy hormones, call it mommy feelings whatever but I immediately started crying. This child sitting on my lap both was and wasn't my baby. She will always be my baby until I die but she's not really a baby anymore. She now walks (we'll be a full time walker pretty soon) and talks, knows what naughty things are and enjoys trying to play with them and then run away when we catch her. She's not even a year yet and she's turned into a little girl, no longer my tiny red newborn.
I'm not really sure how I'm going to handle her birthday in a month. Maybe this realization and the crying it brought on is what the emotional 1st birthday is about. Realizing that little baby you gave birth to is just a memory and in its place you have an amazing toddler.

I love the pool
The pool is my one true love. Sophia loves the pool, she's actually more sure of herself in the water than she is outside of it. And there is a bonus.
It wears the poor girl out. I mean we come home after 45 minutes at the pool and she is like half comatose and ready for bed. It's AMAZING.
A little moving update. Carl's family is finally getting around to emptying the new house so hopefully we can start moving soon. I'm so worried about this since I'm beginning to doubt Sam will last until the 29th.
A good thing about Sam is my dear mother just finished our big shopping for him. We got a second high chair (identical to Sophie's), a bassinet, and his crib mattress. I'm so freaking happy, at least he'll have a place to sleep now.

Okay I know I suck
My last update was about my 20 week appt. Haha I'm awesome.
I'm now 35 weeks meaning this show is rapidly coming to an end. If Sam doesn't arrive earlier he will be removed by force on July 29. Yeah I have what now 28 days left. OMFG that is four weeks. -wheeze-
Sophia turned 11 months old today. She can crawl, she takes up to 4 independent steps, she has 8 teeth now and she can say words! Our list so far is Mama, Daddy, Dog, Cat, Duck, Yeah, No, GO (must always be yelled), Chey (one of my little sister's names) and HI!
We are moving again. Long story short I had some complications with the pregnancy starting around 29 weeks. I got to the point where it was either quit or feel like I was risking my son's life. So we're moving into the 2nd half of Carl's grandmother's house. Its a 2 bedroom, I'm sacrificing the larger room for my babes. Carl is currently working 2 jobs (and will be starting a 3rd on August 1) and I hate him having to work like this. After August though he will be quitting at least 1 job, and we'll be saving up money to buy a minivan and then a house.

Nubbin is a.... BOY
BOY. Samuel Richard!
and good gravy he was pleased to show us. I guess all boys are like that...
Everything looks good on HIM. HE's measuring 21 weeks (I was 19weeks 5 days when I went for the ultrasound)
This is Sam's profile he's going to be a cutie :)
Sophie could really care less but she is certainly a cutie these days. She even tolerated a shopping trip for BOY clothes.
Both of my children will be well dressed thank you very much
We also moved and are now residing in a three bedroom house about 50 ft from my mother's house. Sophia seems to like the extra space!
Sophie is now scooting around the room on her perfectly plump backside. She also enjoys swings, walks by the pond, and turkey. And that sounded like a dating add. I will betroth her to the highest bidder... uhm cutest boy.
Some Sophia eye candy because she's too cute.

My little St. Patrick's Day cutie
Oh yes and did I mention we boughjail a play yard?

Well I suck
I know it's been a while. I've been so tired and just blah to really think of anything to say.
Miss Sophia is doing splendid. She's using her two little teeth for destruction and mayhem. She is also too painfully cute for words.
I've been better. Nubbin is doing great with a wonderful heart beat and is jumping around on the monitor when I've had ultrasounds. Unfortunately something is up with my cervix and I'm bleeding. It's not cool or fun but I'm trying not to worry so much since the baby has been doing great every time I go in for a check. On the 15th I find out what nubbin is, the baby will finally be called by its real name.
We are moving in about a week to a bigger place with 3 bedrooms, so my babies don't have to share. It's going to be so much fun once we live there. Though I hate moving. I'm also starting CNA training on 3/28 so I'll have a really job again, of course it will be part time 3 or 4 days a week.
The cloth diapering is going well. Honestly my family transitioned into it so well that there isn't much to write except I feel better know Sophie isn't on chemicals all day and it's saving us money.
I will leave you with some photos of the princess in all her glory.
